French Lick (Ind.) Resort

 

This Indiana town may be best known as the hometown of the Hick from French Lick, Boston Celtics great Larry Bird, but the three golf courses at the French Lick Resort are a close second. One course designed by famed golf architect Pete Dye hosted the 2015 Senior PGA Championship and LPGA Championship in 2013. Senior PGA champion Colin Montomerie called it “one of the iconic courses” in America. The century-old Donald Ross Course at French Lick was designed in 1917, and the course itself hosted the 1924 PGA Championship. It has been rated the No. 2 public golf course in Indiana by GolfWeek every year since 2011.With courses like that, these are some of the best golf courses to play in your RV.

Thunder Bay (Mich.) Resort

Not only is Thunder Bay Resort in Hillman, Mich., one of the best courses to play in your RV, you can also go elk viewing in a horse-drawn carriage or sleigh. The golf course is 6,712 yards and a par 73 course. The resort has 23 RV sites.

The Shore Gate (N.J.) Golf Club

The 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course in Ocean View, N.J., features seven ponds, 88 bunkers and rolling hills, making it one of the best courses to play in your RV. It also is known for its iconic 648-yard, par-5 ninth hole. RVers can stay next door at the Ocean View Resort Campground to get preferred fees and tee times.

Sanlan (Fla.) RV and Golf Resort

This resort in Lakeland, Fla., features three nine-hole courses that are surrounded by natural landscaping and the Sanlan Bird and Wildlife Sanctuary, helping in garner a spot in the best places to play golf in your RV. It covers 785 acres and accommodates 500 RVs.

The Links of North Dakota

The links-style 18-hole course, which opened in 1995 in Williston, N.D., is built on the bluffs above Lake Sakakawea and has fantastic panoramic views. The course has five sets of tees to accommodate all levels of golfers, making it one of the best places to play in your RV. It has a 20-unit RV park with pull-through parking.

Westwind (Ariz.) RV and Golf Resort

This nine-hole course in Yuma, Ariz., features mountain views and a peaceful setting. More than 1,000 RV sites.

Sage Hill (Wash.) Golf Club and RV Resort

This par-71, 18-hole course in Warden, Wash., about 100 miles southwest of Spokane, offers great views to make it one of the best places to play in your RV. It was originally a private club. It has 48 RV sites.
